while chillin' with all my favorite Hootie videos this week end on VH-1, i chanced upon a segment called "Funky-Fresh New Records That A Fourty-Seven Year Old MTV Executive Decided You Should Buy" or something to that effect. and much to my amazement i saw the following..... "the cocteau (pronounced "cok-too" by our extremely eloquent VJ*) twins have released a new ep containing two new songs and new versions of two old songs. all four songs have been drastically remixed by one of england's top DJ's!" DJ? sounds like someone read a press release. *haven't you ever heard of Jean Cocteau ya ninny? ::bzzzzzzzzzzz. ::rex.

It's really about time we put the term six feet under entirely.

Actually the Cocteau Twins hadn't heard of him when they came up with the name, or at least they didn't know who he was. I'm serious! And even if the featured ninny *did* know, people are still confusing "lose" with "loose" by the thousands. There's no way to rectify the problem; just be glad it's that easy to notice the fuckers or they'd be babysitting your kids, filling their minds with feces. einexile While I'm here, can someone please tell me what happened to Chapterhouse? Thanks.

The only thing i ever heard from Chapterhouse (several years back), sounded a lot like oasis and stone roses type stuff. Have they done something that idm'ers might be interested? Just curious. jay ______________________________________________________________________________ Jason W. I ask because no one else seems to know and Global Communication remixed their entire album (which you kind of have to have heard to properly appreciate the remix). They are also on the same label. As for the sound of the band's records, they never sounded like a rock band. They were grouped in with Slowdive and Lush and other heavy-ether shit like that. Even back when they were fairly uninteresting they had a lot of electronics to their music, and this increased with Blood Music. It's not necessarily ambient or techno or whatnot, but it is dance music and it is intelligent, and electronic to about the extent of early Clan of Xymox, Seefeel, Labradford. This isn't the idea place to discuss them, though, no. e (oasis my ass! :)

Ahhh, IDM. The few, the proud, the tastefully skilled with words to dis you with. Speaking of things to make you go *barf* Moby managed to be king of the Mountain on Spin Magazines "best of 95" list. *shivers* I think Tricky was right behind him. (He, he, he.) In the "best albums you didn't hear this year" catagory was Wagon Christ - Throbbing Pouch... bringing up the rear. (Get it...bring up the rear...never mind.) Of course Spin meant plug1,2,3 anyhow. ;-) Teep <--ass firmly planted in chair...banging out some "Alive in 95" reviews. ON JUNGLE "We didn't jump the bandwagon, our boys pulled that shit right up to the corner."
1995-12-12 03:14KSSenator@aol.comExcuse me. Moby sucks.
