WoW. WoW. WoW. Gorgeous. I have this on a Radio 1 mix session by LTJ Bukem and it sends me every time. Maybe in 96 this wonderful music will be more widely available. Here's hoping. Somebody else's chart mentioned Neil Landstrumm's "Brown By August". Review anyone please? Or just some general impressions. Thanks, Ewan. OnNow: Heaven.

anyone please ? Or just some general impressions. Here's an impression: SLAMMIN'. You'd think that it'd be more Dan Bell rip-off minimalism, but on this record Landstrumm ups the ante by making the shit harder and noisier than the usual DBX/Todd Sines fare, while keeping the funky 909 patterns and evened-out speed (averaging 135-138 bpm). DEFINITELY DJ-friendly, and ultimately the kind of shit that is usually antithetical to this list. (BTW, if you remember the LTG Project 2x12" on Djax last year, Landstrumm's record is everything that LTG tried to do, but couldn't pull off: hard techno w/ house beats). You know, when I started making records, I quit doing reviews of other peoples'. But every so often such a kick-ass record comes out that I can't keep my mouth shut...this is one of them... ao
