Ok I picked up the Being 12" _Monthly Transmission: October_. 4 tracks, and all of them are fantastic. Says it's published by Sabresongs and is (p) and (c) Sabres of Paradise, is this their label or what? I'd describe the music if I could articulate what I hear into words, but I'm not good at that sort of thing. Neat zip-lock baggie packaging. The Mariopaint LP on Irdial is cute. Now when people say to you 'hey that sounds like the music that I hear when my kid plays nintendo' you can say 'why yes actually it is music made on a nintendo'. doesn't really go anywhere mad but ive always had the sick fantasy of chillin out and groovin' to a video game, this gets me there. I haven't heard _In Pine Effect_ but I find Kid Spatula to be a lot cooler than µ-Ziq's _Salsa_ EP. i dont think he does the slowed down funky beats as well as he does the crazy mad beats with the monstrously beautiful melodies. sung --- foss@starnetinc.com http://www.starnetinc.com/pwp/foss/index.htm

I actually like _Salsa & Mesquite_ a bit better rhythm-wise, but Kid Spatula does have some really nice tunes. "Metal Thing #1" is a real stomper though, and "Not Human" has that strange distorted harmonium-like sound which is absolutely surreal. GD
