"keeping the aroma" however is the end of innovation, 'cause the flow's gone. Well, generally I don't like the CDs I own which are not at least somewhat innovative. There are many ways for an artist to get a gold star in my grade book, and being innovative and different is by far my #1 criteria. I'd rather listen to an artist awkwardly stumbling over new ground than perfectly striding a well-worn path. It's so lame to do something you already know how to do. As an artist freind of mine said to me the other day "the job of an artist is to figure out what it is that they do the worst, then start doing that." It's a bit of an exaggeration, but the point is that if you aren't going forward, you're going nowhere. -CF
