Hi folks, I am reading this list for while now and follow the recent discussion about IDM, Goe, Hardfloor... so what is Intelligent Dance Music at all?! Is it progressive? Must it me new?! It it made in a intelligent way?! Is it intellectual?! Not for dancing?! Does it have a meaning?! Can it be commercial?! I subscribed to this list in order to find some people who listen more than Scooter, Westbam or Sven Vaeth - to get information, new impulses, where is it going, how could it sound like in a few years... What is IDM right now?! Is it Plastikman, Model 500, Kenny Larkin, Jeff Mills, LFO,...?! I don't know... most of them where very progressive, 'intelligent' once, they realy did a great job but a lot of new stuff from these old heroes doesn't sound new or fascinating to me anymore... well, I am really waiting for the new LFO and Jeff Mills Album but I guess I will be disappointed. Listen to the early Mills-work, that's what I call IDM! What is new?! Where are new IDM-acts?! BTW, would you call Goldie IDM?! I would... thats 'intelligent' jungle dance music... cya harald schmitz germany BTW, my webpages, "the wicked world" are offline for a while... :(

Hey! You left C.J. Bolland off the list. He's stuck in such a rut! He's still making breakbeat tracks for that dub plate only label run by Alex Reece, R&S. Wait, maybe it's Claude Young's label and there's this jungle compilation with all Reece on it. No, that's not it. Claude's track is on Ken Ishii's R&S sublabel, Extra. There's a Wagon Heart remix of it on Mo Fax. On a more serious note, the P-man remix of Attica Blues is pop-tart fresh from the toaster. Rich is gliding up into a new level, easy. Teep IDM, it's not just a genre, it's a way of life. (who said that?)
