I'd really appreciate copious amounts of information on these dudes. I really like basically everything of Howie B's I've heard, but that isn't much - 'Skylab #1' and the stuff on 'Headz'. I remember reading an article, maybe around May, in which he said he was releasing an album called something like 'Songs for Babes' (he defended the title wildly :). Was that released? I also got the impression that the label Pussyfoot was started by Howie B. Is this right? Has he had releases of his own stuff on there? Are Tosh and Kudo the Major Force Orchestra? One final question: have they (either one if they're different groups) released any full lengths? Thanks in advance, Michael ______________________________________________________________________________ scrot@sans.vuw.ac.nz (Michael Upton) "Doo doo doo" - Beach Boys ______________________________________________________________________________

There are some Howie B tracks on the compilation "110 below 2" from the new electronica label. If I remember correct there was a song called "birds" which is great. The whole compilation is in the same style, slow and groovy, better as "110 below 1", check it out ! ciao, peter -- "http://www.htsa.hva.nl/~peterjn"

I don't know about Songs for Babes but I did just pick up a new Skylab CD this week. It was called Oh! Skylab and it contained five tracks: two remixes of #1 songs and three new tracks. It's quite good too!

Yes, that is correct. Howie B started and maintains the Pussyfoot label. I believe there has been a compilation released of Pussyfoot artists, with Howie B contributing some tracks. The linenotes might say if there is a forthcoming full length release by Howie B.

Tosh & Kudo are Love TKO, U.N.K.L.E., part of Skylab, and part of Major Force Orchestra. Howie B is involved in all of these projects to some degree or another as well. For the most complete MoWax info on the net refer to Spoon's unofficial MoWax/Major Force/Excursions web site at: http://www.warwick.ac.uk/~esvtk/mowax/index.html Hope this helps! -->-Lance--- mclance@ix.netcom.com

Thanks for all the info. While I'm here I just want to check something else out: I got the impression that UNKLE is James Lavelle, which would explain why on the 'Headz' comp 'The Time has Come' is accredited to UNKLE vs. The Major Force Orchestra. The MoWax site doesn't say... Yeah, I know, that's something I've got to sort out. I'm planning a major upheavel of my site and that's going to include a 'Whos Who of Mo' Wax'. Anyway, U.N.K.L.E. are James Lavelle, and various other people who he hangs with, Simon Richmond (Palmskin Prods) helps with some tracks. There's an UNKLE long player in the works (it should be at the pressing stage at the moment) so I guess we'll find out then who is actually involved with the outfit. As for Major Force, there's no long player available as far as I'm aware, there's a 7" collection entitled 'Theremin Beats' proposed for release by Mo' Wax but as to what this is it's anyones guess. There's been a few releases on Pussyfoot that I've noticed recently, a couple of albums but I'm no sure what they were. hope i've been of some help to someone cheers martin Hydrogen Dukebox Mo' Wax Org Records Sabres Of Paradise |------------------------------------------------------------------| |THE | The finest | http://www.warwick.ac.uk/~esvtk/ | | SPOON | discographies|------------------------------------| | WEB | on the Web(?)| e-mail : esvtk@csv.warwick.ac.uk | |------------------------------------------------------------------| Done Lying Down Gunshot Eskimos & Egypt Sleeper
