I recommend some of you submit entries: what have you got to loose? ------------------- Forwarded ------------------ ------====== Attention Electronic Music Composer/Creators ======-------- --== Ambient Electronic Compilation seeks Artist Submissions for CD ==-- Red Phraug Modern Medium (RPMM) is seeking unique and new modern ambient-electronic music artist submissions for the second in the Amphibious Maximus compilation series audio CDs. To see/hear tracks from the first compilation, point your web browser at: http://www.rpmm.com/~noise/amphib.html The home page for RPMM then is simply: http://www.rpmm.com/~noise Info about the new comps is on: http://www.rpmm.com/~noise/comps.html Red Phraug would like to hear the new voices in electronic music that is being created in the bedrooms and basements of the universe! We want to hear submissions from all that is new in style, mood, and atmosphere, so send us a copy of the material that you've recorded that is most definitive of your approach (not your most derivitive or broadly-appealing) to electronic music. The first Amphibious Maximus compilation included music influenced from styles as wide as intelligent-techno, pop, noise/experimental, and classical/experimental -- the common threads being that they were all had did something 'new' and were from the NW-region of the US. This regional focus is being dropped for the second CD in the series. The futuristic feel of the music is the thread that ties the second compilation's tracks. - Tracks from the submission material itself could potentially be used, so please send DAT (44.1 khz preferred) or CD, or cassette (though keep in mind this is going to have to eventually going to be pressed on cd). The compilation will be visually arranged and digitally mastered by RPMM (Mathew Taft, the owner has all the equipment for final artwork), and hopefully will be available through Solielmoon and Staaltape and Tower as the first compilation is currently. - The compilation will hopefully lead to promoting full-length releases by artists and, in general, the label farther along in getting more distribution and just better momentum. A contract will be drawn up concerning each accepted artist, but it is suggested that works are copyrighted before submission if you are concerned about protecting your work for good measure. - Due to the limitations of trying to get a good variety of artists on the compilation, the length of the tracks should be kept to a shortish length and RPMM might ask to represent a track as an excerpt if possible. It depends on the character/energy/quality of the material, of course, as some music doesn't survive truncation... - This is a good chance to promote your unique electronic-music compositions and connect with other programmers for future collaborations! - Send DAT, CD, or cassettes to RPMM Electronic Music P.O.Box 186 Oregon City, OR 97045 USA - The deadline for submissions is Feb 28, 1996 for submissions, but RPMM will always listen to submissions send outside of this project anytime. If you have any questions, contact noise@teleport.com --------------================= RPMM ==================-------------------- ------- snip ------ I have a track on the first compilation (Solenoid) and was pleased with the professional presentation, artwork, world-wide promotion and tasteful selection of material on the comp. Though my music differed a bit from some of the other music on it, I think it had a good flow and I'm looking forward to being on the next one!
