recent interest in Eastern European techno...Just wanted to let you all
know then about the upcoming release on Defective Records by Solar X, who
is probably Moscow's most active and talented idm artist...>>
Well honestly i was very suprised when i saw this message, because i used to
live in Moscow all my life(before i temporary moved to NYC) and i have a
lot of friends beetween musicians and label owners.
And i ve never heard of Defective Rec.
But i did heard/have a few CD compilations that might be very interesting
for IDM lovers all over the world:
Moscow Beats Vol.1 (on moscow beats rec.) -from 1995
Euphory-10 (includes:Brothers In Mind, Zima, FIO, World Serpent(not the
label), Sort Of Fishes,...) from 1994 on RDM Records
And also there is the best compilation of russian electronic music :
"Vremya Vpered" also known as "Russian PizDance"--on Airfish Records.
It includes the biggest russian IDM band: New Composers, probably some of
you have seen their name on the cover booklet of The Orb's "UFOrb", also
they released a few singles on british Ark Records ,one of them "Sputnik"
even got into british charts.
Also on this CD: very danceable Zima, mysterious Block Four, Yuri Orlov
(also known as FIO) , The Fantom, X-Time, Ivan Sokolovsky from the greatest
russian-tuviean(Tuva is a small country near Tibet) electronic ethno
project YAT-KHA).
Plus there are few more of new CDs which i dont have yet.
Oh BTW:The Magazine i work for released a CD it is called "Ptuch
Zone",there are a couple of bands, which are worth to be checked out.such as
"Vesna Na Ulitze Karla Yuhana" and Alien Pat. Holman),hopefully you could
find a new Alien Pat. Holman's 12" in some american record stores, because
we are going to release it in the United States VERY soon!
best wishes,
-Alex
