Uh ... isn't comparing Aphex to Wagon Christ like apples and oranges?

You're mad. :-)
Over last weekend I bought "In Pine Effect". I had no idea what to expect,
given that my one listen to "Bluff Limbo" (on a tape while cruising up to
San Francisco with Andy Thomas - thanks Andy (-: ) left me with the distinct
impression that it was "Tango++", i.e. Return of Son of Beneath the Planet
Of the Ultra "Tango n' Vectif".
Well, "In Pine Effect" shares some noises - after all, it is Mike Paradinas -
with its predecessors, but goes off in completely new vectors. Except for
the duff track # 11 ("Pine Effect"), which should have been on a Slazenger
record, everything else is brilliant.
(I haven't liked a record this much on 1st listen since ... oh Hell, I dunno.
"Truth Is Born Of Arguments", maybe.)
