To all clueless unsubscribers, Send your message to majordomo@hyperreal.com, jerky. It talks ALL about it in the message you got automatically when you first subscribed. As if you paid any attention to that... At 01:55 AM 10/18/95 PDT, you wrote:

Calm down, dude. I don't know if it's just that he's busy or what, but sometimes Alan takes a LONG time to process unsub requests, which sometimes he HAS to do, because if you are unsubbing from an address other than the one you subbed from, majordomo automatically forwards the request to the list owner for approval. It's a pain in the ass if you have several hundred members on the list... I used to get several a day on the list I was running. Combined with other list management tasks it adds up, and is easy to forget if you are busy. In fact, when I changed e-mail addresses last year I eventually forged an unsub request from my old address because Alan never got around to unsubbing me, resulting in duplicate list mail for a few weeks. (I couldn't just unsub from the old address normally because I no longer had access to the account after I left the company I was in). This wasn't a problem for me but you shouldn't have to forge e-mail to change your damn list address. Anyway, take it easy on the unsubbers, OK? Not all of them are clueless. -H-
