I am crossposting this to idm because of the recent discussion there. I
have a few questions and some recommendations...
First: What, if any, is the relation of the US Instinct Fax compulations
to the numbered "compilation" and "ambient compilation" releases listed
in the discography?
Second: Exactly what release do I have if I have a double CD that says
2350 Broadway on the back, the inside of the insert, and on the discs
itself, but which on the spines says 2350 Broadway 2? Is this the second
(or whatever) 2350 Broadway or have there even been two such or does this
constitute two albums? The tracks are The Invisible Landscape and Art of
Dream.
Third: Not to nitpick, but is there a reason DSOM3 uses the roman numeral
III in its title? I feel kind of silly with a disc caled "The Dark Side
of the Moog 2" sitting next to "The Dark Side of the Moog III" in my
collection. Is there a method to this madness or are they just careless
and lame?
Fourth: Could someone please mail or repost the Otras review/rant that
was posted here (one one of these lists) a week or two ago? I lost it and
would like to read it as I have become quite an Otras person.
To the discussion on idm and anyone wanting good danceable trancey Fax, I
recommend Xangadix, Xangadix 2, Fanger & Siebert, A Day in the Park,
Solphax, and The Whole Traffic. Some of Otras 2, Modula Green
"Shellground" and Alien Community may also apply. (I have to mention
these since they are the three best Fax releases I have heard.)
Thanks for any answers.
