Thanks to you all who've replied to my "Odd Question", my parents are now on there way to the Apple. (With a huge list) Yesterday i was at a local record store here in Holland and i noticed some mo'wax releases called "Excursions into Techno". I think there were 5 orso and one of them was with David Caron. So, does anyone have some more info on these ? Collin.

I think they're up to volume three now. Three comes with a limited addition "holder" that looks as though it will hold 5, maybe 6, pieces of vinyl. I have only heard volume 1 in the series by David Carron (mixes by Tranquility Bass, Mark Vroom, etc.). Its really good, trippy, beat-filled, music that I wouldn't classify as techno...much more lazy and semi-jazzy. Actually, it sounds like something you'd expect on Mo Wax (go figure). I don't think that these releases are on cd BTW. Correct me if I'm wrong. MC

These are on the Mo'Wax offshoot, Excursions, and are split into two groups - hip-hop/trip-hop and techno. This was set up to release stuff which wouldn't normally come out on Mo'Wax, and to cater for more styles. Some of the releases are IO's 'Claire' (which is the wondeeful Patrick Pulsinger), David Caron's 'Fantasy On A Fantasy' and an EP by the Prunes. Good stuff, generally... see ya _________________________________________________ tom churchill e-mail: tom@chrchfam.demon.co.uk electronic musician/dj _________________________________________________
