Sorry if this comes through twice on IDM and AMB lists, i noticed the original post used .com instead of .org for those lists and i wasn't sure if the post would get through. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2000 15:00:30 -0600 (CST) From: phonaut <njurcin@orion.it.luc.edu> To: IDM Mailing List <idm@hyperreal.com>, Ambient Mailing List <ambient@hyperreal.com>, Whitezone Mailing List <whitezone-l@lists.sonic.net>, +49-69/450464 <faxlist@2350.org>, Eye Heart Atom <mother@hyperreal.org> Subject: Re: whitezone-l ENTIRE FAX collection for sale (eBay) ++ That looks like it might be "groover" aka Don Weir. His homepage is at: http://members.xoom.com/beatz2000/ Haven't seen him around for quite some time, but a few years ago he built up quite the infamous repuatation. Bootlegging Fax CDs was only one accusation levelled at the time. Check the archives from the first 3 months of 1996 for more info. To be fair, several people came forward defending Don, and I must admit to having 2 successful single-disc trades with him back then. One deal involved a Fax disc and it was genuine. But i would be skeptical about doing a multi-thousand dollar deal with him involving "complete sets" of discs. Maybe he's turned a new leaf, maybe he never needed to, maybe he's trustworthy, and maybe not. All i'm saying here is Procede With Caution. Apologies for posting to all relavent lists. Below are a couple posts from the ambient archives to fill you in. n. Don Weir goes up to Klaus Schulze in Australia and makes some sick right wing nazi comments and then reputedly pulls out a knife when KS looks at him with disgust . Mike Brown has decided that he no longer wishes to continue to co-run the list with me and has left me in charge. He didn't give any explicit reasons, but I gather he's probably just sick of dealing with all of the bullshit, quite understandable. There no major changes planned, but efective immediately Don Weir is no longer welcome on the ambient list and C.U.E has been invited back. If anyone has a problem with that, tough. It had to happen. You don't know half of what has been going on behind the ambient list and as you say, if you've been reading everything, you must not have been here from the very beginning or you haven't been following *that* closely. It's been quite a confusing trip considering Mr. Weir has about 10 different email addresses he uses to get away with what he does.

yeah I have respected Mike and have told him so for the way he was running this list, even though he's been a little trigger happy with the unsubscribe button lately, but removing Charlie was wrong and downright too far.

well that's good for you, honestly - but he's been a psychopath to everyone associated with the label. Have you been to Australia to meet him? Probably not but Klaus Schulze has and he claims that Don pulled a knife on him and he was espousing some Nazi propoganda because Klaus is from Germany. Yes I've exchanged some CDs with Don too until I found this out second hand from Pete Namlook himself. Charlie was told not to sell FAX CDs to Don and Don decided to start a personal war with many frightening verbal attacks, accusations and sick jokes. I've seen the evidence at Charlie's place of what Don has sent to him. I've met Charlie and he is one very mellow nice guy. He's been unnecessarily put through so much bullshit and pushed into an extreme all because of this one relentless person. Nobody deserves this amount of abuse. It's not just Charlie either but I won't name names.

This is sad because he is only making profit from the label. Personally I'm sick of him creating a new email account every month and posting a forsale list non stop every week. Can't you see that he has nothing intelligent in terms of conversation to contribute to this list? I won't even get into how he was trying to sell bootlegs on this list. He is only using this forum so he can make money from FAX and try to have the last laugh. This is his way to hurt and get back at the label. I seriously believe he has mental problems. One minute he's fine and the next he'll start accusing you of stuff out of the blue. He doesn't make sense a lot of the time and I've had to have people help me read some of his messages because of how confusing he can be when he actually has something to say aside from "for sale/trade". I would feel sorry for him but I believe he's been asking for it. I'm surprised he's been around as long as he has and I'm glad to see that a sense of justice has finally prevailed. If you want to get hard to find FAX CDs, contact EAR/Rational in the USA or DJ Criss at FAX (see the FAX home page) who have been working very hard and coming up with a lot of stuff that Don Weir has only been dreaming of getting. ___ / / / / / / _ __/ will@panix.com (_/__/ / (__ (__ ___/ http://www.hyperreal.com/~will/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
