hello all, I'm new to this list, and I need some help. I hope this question isn't too obvious or bothersome.. On Artificial Int. 2, the song "Arcadian" by Link(who are also Global Communications and Reload I assume...), is, well, perfect. It has become enmeshed in my existence. On the cd, it says "remix. Global Communications" is it possible that there is a remix of this track out there? I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me any info. at all concerning this song(and remix of)...or any other artists I should listen to if I liked this track(my friend from Germany suggested I should listen to Bobo In Wooden White Houses, but I couldn't find it in New York). Thank you for your help....again I apologize if this letter is inappropriate in some way, I'm new to all this. farewell Andi

Actually, it's a remix of the original by the same doodz recording under a different name, which is just typical for them. Pritchard & Middleton record as Global Communication, Reload, Link, E621, Chameleon, Jedi Knights, and others which are harder to track down. The original is easiest to get on the Warp compilation "A Brief History of Evolution", which collects some of their earlier, rawer tracks. The original Arcadian isn't as produced as the remix, and my guess is you won't like it as much, but I'm finding that it's worth tracking down anything these guys do - original or remix. The problem w/ GlobComm for American fans is that so much of their material is import only. I'm sure "76:14" is domestic, but others aren't as easy to find. Some to look for (probably as imports) include "Pentamerous Metamorphosis" - a complete remix of ChapterHouse's "Blood Music", "A Collection of Short Stories" (as Reload), the Warp Comp mentioned earlier, remix singles of "Maiden Voyage", the "Antacid" single (as Link), the Jedi Knights ep on Clear, and my favorite of all, the remix on Step 2's "Down to the Roach" - damn, it's smooth! Good Luck Che

I too was surprised to make the connection that the non-descript number on "Theory of Evolution" was the original forefather of the suspenseful, beauty laden suckerpuncher from AI2 that has been one of my top 10 since I first heard it over a year ago. The only connection is that weak little piano line on the original. There is also at least one other Link mix that I've heard several times at parties. More of an extended version of the AI2 version, with a stripped out middle seque with the beatiful piano solo and the hard as nails snare. Anybody know where I can find this one? peeeeeeeeece, Jeff Davis <pHlow> ____--~~~~~~vvvv~~~~ oooooo 812.831.7846 jjdavis@xnet.com____---- ( ( ( vvvv ~~~~~~ooooooooooooo ___----( ( \ \ \ \ \ vvv oooooooooooooooooooooooooo ____---- ( \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ http://www.xnet.com/~jjdavis/
