Finally picked up "Generation Star Wars" and I'm definitely not
disappointed. This stuff is right in the pocket for an Aphex Twin
& Muziq fan. A couple of quick observations:
1. Mille Plateaux is eventually get into big, big trouble on the
copyright infringement. If George Lucas ever sees the packaging
for this (R2D2,3CPO, and a space ship from Star Wars) he'll
go ballistic. Then there's the "Electronic Desert" CD by Global
Electronic Network samples 10 minutes (!) of the Fresh Air
interview show out of Philadelphia ... I'm not going to tattle.
At the very least, it's a cinch this stuff won't come out
domestic,
at least in it's present form.
2. Taking a page from Mu-Ziq's book, he lies on his gear list.
TR-808, AKAI S-1100, SH-101 and a Boss delay pedal. Not!
There's a fairly obvious 303 line on one cut, and the distorto
beats sound suspiciously like they've been processed by an
MS20. Why don't they just come clean?

THE HUMAN RACE, OR THE WORLD IN GENERAL. EVEN IF YOU SHIPPED ME
OFF TO JUPITER, I'D KILL OFF ALL THE ALIENS BECAUSE THEY'D DIE
OF EXPOSURE TO LAMENESS." - Scott Koladich, in a fit of abnegation.
