Various Artists-777(1991) Ten Records/Caroline Records 2xLP (7:12)The Orb-'Sunburst'(Seahorse Mix) (6:29)System 7-'Miracle'(Orb Remix) (7:33)System 7-'Depth Disco' (5:56)D. May/S. Hillage-'Altitude' (6:07)System 7-'Habibi' (6:15)S. Hillage-'Strange Quotations' (6:57)System 7-'Bon Humeur' (5:17)System 7-'Freedom Fighters' (5:53)Orb/System 7-'Dog' (2:22)Orb/System 7-'Thunderdog' (6:22)D. May/S. Hillage-'Listen' (2:08)D. May/S. Hillage-'Fractal Liason'(Mixed Live To DAT) (3:26)System 7-'Over And Out' (6:07)The Orb-'Mia'(The Fisherman Mix) Double Album featuring:Derrick May, The Orb, System 7, Youth, Thrash & a host of vocalists & guitarists. The sound is mainly deep, eclectic ambient/house with very cheesy vocals. This album would be ideal for deep house DJ's, and it could also be compared to the "Point 3:Water Album" material by System 7. The Derrick May stuff is very much "unlike" some of the stuff he was putting out at the time, but still very innovative. I do have a mixed tape of most of the tracks on this album, if anyone is interested. Make use of my private e-mail if you'd like a tape. My Favorites:'Listen', 'Depth Disco', 'Altitude', 'Dog', 'Mia' I am willing to trade this if you have any of the following on vinyl: Various-BioRhythms Vol. 1:Dance Music With Bleeps-Network Records Various-Chill Out Or Die! Vol. 1-Rising High Records Various-RetroTechno:EmotionsElectric-Network Records Various-Techno Classics Vol. 1-Rising High Records Various-Area Code 212/313-Infonet Records The Hypnotist-Let Us Pray:The Complete Hypnotist-Rising High Records or any '91-'92 Techno/Ambient LP Derek Jordan

This album doesn't "feature" System 7, it *is* System 7 -- this is the retitled US version of their debut album. They had to change their name to 777 in the US because (according to Hillage) there was already a US band called System 7. It is *not* a "Various Artists" disc. Everyone other than Hillage/Giraudy is making a guest appearance. -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo)

When I bought it, it was my understanding that it was a comp. I saw the UK version(w/ different cover art) in TEEX Vol. 1. Oh well, nevermind the teknikul rhetoric, an excellent album nevertheless... Derek
