Usw, usw... Please, let's NOT start this stupid thread again, geezers and geezerettes! Alan, can't you just put the instructions for the correct pronounciation in the introductory mail for the new subscribers so we don't have to wallow in this every second month? ;) ObIDM: Just received loads of goodies from Groovy Beat Records. Mostly newish Finnish techno stuff, like Mono Junk's new CD and 2x12", Dum Records' (run by Kimmo Rapatti aka Mono Junk) compilation 'Dum Trax', and an interesting CD from the Finnish-American techno act FTZ (from the new label Area 51 Records). I haven't had much time to listen to these yet, but I can already say that Mono Junk's 'Gloom' CD will be definitely on my Top Ten list at the end of this year; the CD including some manic mind- blowing acid apocalypse stuff like 'Enter' (also on the 2x12"). I think also FTZ's 'Nothing Is True' CD will be a pleasant surprise for many IDMers (despite its silly computer-generated bimbo cover ;), the trax varying from bleepy acid to near-ambient IDM to some old school hardcore! Don't worry, it's not so bad as it may sound ;) More detailed reviews maybe in the near future - just waiting for my summer drowsiness to pass... zzzz... ;) ERkki Tampere, pHinland trerra@uta.fi

Wowie zowie. I was wondering if anyone besides myself would mention this album on this list. :) As far as I know, neither Dan nor Riku have gotten any distribution deals, so the only way to get this album is through mail-order. Check out http://kosmic.wit.com/~kosmic/areawww/area51.html for a start. ---- The Finn / VLA | "Feel the love: have a carrot!" -- Groovy Dave Aaron J. I got my copy from Groovy Beat Records, probably the best techno store in pHinland at the moment. Ask them, if no luck elsewhere. Groovy Beat Records Henrikinkatu 5 20500 Turku FINLAND Tel./Fax. +358-21-2333 717 E-mail: george@freenet.hut.fi
