Apart from the disappointment of the unavailability of Plug 2, I found a few tasty junglistic rhythms out there. I've not been along with the hardcore/d&b/jungle scene, so call me a bandwagon jumper if you will. The stuff I'm getting hold of is usually away from the standard d&b labels too. What with Autechre's DJ food remix and Wagon Christ's "Redone" for a start, as mentioned already, I was also grabbed by Kushti- Freestyle. This states "produced at Plaid" (not _by_ Plaid) and I can't remember who it quotes as producer/creator. Massive breakbeats and some wicked Jazzy goings on, it's great. Two other tracks are more in a mellow funky vein, didn't stand out so much, need another listen. Then there's Joe Nation, a promo on Chill out (Chill12009) More wicked breaks and some twisted ambience too with very little info on a white label. I must admit that a label apparently as small as chill out needs to put out promos as well as full releases. J ^

Did you hear LTJ Bukem on the essential mix a while back? Now that was good stuff. Lots of quiet breakbeats, really mellow stuff over the top, and an MC with lots of echo on his mike. After a while I found it hard to stay awake (it was 1:30am after all) Rob.
