Together with the latest issue of UK's Muzik (no. 3, August) is a free 90 minute R&S-tape: complete tracklisting: Ken Ishi-Extra, Future/Past-Hyperspace, Tournesol-Break'n'Space, Jacob's Optical Stairway-Fragments of the lost language, 69-Puntang, Model 500-I wanna be there, Capricorn-20 Hz, Dj Hell-My definition of house music, Radical Rob-Monkey Wah, David Morley-Birth, Golden Girls-Kinetic, Beltram-Energy Flash, Guaranteed Raw-Get ahead of this and Mantrax-Scarlet Circle... The Ken Ishi track will be his next single (of the album 'Jelly Tones'), just as the Future/Past (Kirk Degiorgio) track (of the forthcoming album), Tournesol track is of the last album, Jacob's.. (4 Hero/Nu Era) is R&S' first Jungle release, the 69 track is (said to be) done especially for the magazine, Model 500 is the track of the Deep Space album. The b-side tracks were all published in the past by R&S. The last two are by Renaat himself, of wich the last one was released as 300 white labels only.. A short review of the new tracks by Ishi, Kirk and Carl Craig.. (all IMO) Ishi: one of his best, up-tempo elastic sounding tribal rolling track fighting against all tones of strings to come in.. Kirk D.: hard(er than his latest stuff), dark sounding track. With typical Kirk Degiorgio rhythm-loops, voice-samples and bubling strings.. CG: Funky space, whirling strings, bumping bassline, sounding as a mix of his latest things (Pprcl. Ppl. and aka Carl Craig) and the legendary Fragile 12" and the first 69 record. This one is real space! So go for that tape! Peel (maybe overdone.. e-mail r&s: rs@macbel.be)
