The Limbo label is out of Glasgow, and I believe it's parent 23rd Precinct Recording must also be out of there. Isn't Hubba Hubba out of Scotland also? __________________________ /^\ * _____| Ben Pound |______ \_/ * | %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% | /^^( )^^\ | ********************************** \ ? \_/ ? / | _________ \???????/ | -=Albums Up=- \?????/ | ^^^^^^^^^ \ ? / | Acid...Trance...House...Hardcore...Tribal...Ambient / / * For mailorder contact: Nate, Ben, or John at.... / / * albumsup@aol.com------or-----(303) 938-8136 | | ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ (__) "The fish in the water are thirsty, and it makes me laugh." -Kabir ##############################################################################

Yep. I forgot about Limbo Records, but Twitch & Brainstorm's Pi Recordings/T&B Vinyl is based in Edinburgh, as well as the marvelous club called PURE. A friend of mine went & said he had a marvelous time! I think Hubba Hubba is based in Scotland as well, I'll have to check my Forgemasters 12'' again(If I can find it). What happened to that label anyway? The last I heard, they were getting ready to start a new vinyl format of Techno/House/Acid/Experimental color-coded labels, then they vanished! BTW, the aforementioned Forgemasters 12'' should be sought out, it has a couple of tracks from the early Warp catalog, it's called the "Quabala EP"... Derek Jordan

One WARP related track, a remix of "Shall we..." but somewhat housed up with a vocal sampled from Sir James "Special" (I think) which House People would recognise as the same vocal used by Bump's "I'm Rushin'". Not forgetting that there's a remix of "Track With no Name" on the "Black Steel" EP on Network, and also re-rleased on one of the Network Retro series. I just wanted to thank everyone who schooled me on Scottish techno labels, artists, and DJ's. That was a *very* informative thread, and I will definitely seek these records out! :) thanks again. on now: Laurent Garnier (X-Mix 2) "destination planet dream" CD ________________________________________________________________________ | Matt MacQueen | | multimedia/WWW production | |===================================| |==================================| | macqueen@student.msu.edu | | human interface, CD-ROM | |________________________________________________________________________| -8 -6 -4 -2 0 +2 +4 +6 +8
