Yeah so its a bit of a crappy mag I think, but this months is well worth the 2 squid for the R+S tape freebie on the cover (well you could always go down the shops and rip the thing off just in case you lot think this is a plug). Anyhow 14 tracks and 90mins of RnS sounds including tracks (rare and classics) by Ken Ishii (fab) Tournesol, Jacobs Optical Stairway (this is the 4hero and nuera blokes with a jazzydrumnbass effort), Carl Craig (as 69 with an exclusive track, a top one too) Model 500 (edit off Deep Space), Dj Hell (My definition of a technohousemasterwerk), an Orbital mix of a Golden Girls track which is trancey and hhmmm well OK, and joey Beltrams Energy flash (shame I can't play it at +8, sounds a bit slow perhaps?). Anyway ta very much, I'll take that for the W'man and the mag can hit the bog floor. so I admit it i was in there perusing the thing, when I noticed some stuff that may interest one or to of yuz out there. Apparently, Mike Ps been a tad busy: New LP 'In Pine Effect' out Sept 14 on Planet Mu (thru Virgin) and apparently hes already done LP No2 Mixes of Megaphonk (Jake Slazenger) out on Clear soon (if that's the track off the LP he did a drum n bass version of at his live show here a coupla weeks ago its boss, bandwagon? who cares I liked it, tho that kiddies tv theme tune is still stuck in my head) Remixes of Aural Expansion for Crammed (eh?) MuZiq vs Aphex for Rephlex, yeah? is that before or after they release Bluff Limbo? Oh yeah and an EP for Reflective. Apart from that there's A how to change the pitch of yer technics to -16/+16 and beyond I guess and the usual photos with the usual stupid captions etc. later jeff

Ooohh, that tape freebie sounds mega desirable. Why don't they sell this magazine, disappointing though it may be, in the US? On the other hand `due to licencing agreements' we americans never get the zine freebies in UK mags anyhow. Has anyone in the US been able to find Muzik? Is anyone Over There willing to buy a bunch of july mags w/tape and send them to us deprived but willing-to-reimburse americans? cathy <curtis@news.latimes.com> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On Thu, 13 Jul 1995, Jeff Linacre wrote:

not true - any record store worth its salt that carries magazines will offer all UK mags with freebies included. It's all about which distributor you get it from...you can import the magazine (which comes with freebies) or you could buy it from an american distributor, which doesn't.

yep. Mod Lang, Berkeley, CA. They had *one* issue when i was last there and i was able to get a 'subscription' there ie they hold me an issue every month. It does need work but the coverage is great. mb
