are you taking the piss? two ex-members of freur team up with darren emerson, one of the uk's best techno/house djs. combining their studio and production knowledge with his dancefloor experience they produce a couple of singles for junior boys own as lemon interrupt. changing their name to underworld they produce a couple more singles and a debut album. lots of people buy the records. no bandwagon is involved. underworld kick ass, live and on record. and don't forget the tomato. later matt ------------------------------ matt isxmcd@evn1.nott.ac.uk ------------------------------ purveyor of mad lifted beats ------------------------------

Stop being overly defensive and re-read what I wrote, the last sentence in particular. It should be clear I agree with you. I think the 1st 2 Underworld albums (previous incarnation) demonstrate their talent but are highly compromised. On the other hand _dubnobasswithmyheadman_ is all-around excellent and probably is true to their original goal of years ago, before trying to please major labels. I have most of Underworld's material, including the hard-to-find (in the US) "Spikee" / "Dogman go Woof". I do not have any Lemon Interrupt material, except the one track on the JBO comp. What did they release under the name Lemon Interrupt? I'm interested in finding any of the Lemon Interrupt material, and Underworld's "Skyscraper, I Love You" on CDS or 12". Email me privately if you want to part with a copy or know someone who does. On Thu, 6 Jul 1995, matt23 wrote:

I know that on the Renaissance 3CD, there is a version of Dirty Epic, recorded under the Lemon Interrupt `moniker', but I don't think they released much material under this name. Rob.

I expect Mark agrees with you about this; he was referring to the two late-80s Underworld albums on Sire as "sell-outs", not Dubnobasswithmyheadman (which is not the band's debut, just their first album with Emerson). -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@rt66.com - http://www.rt66.com/lazlo) ::: Search Nibble's Discographies! http://www.rt66.com/lazlo/DiscogSearch.html
