Hey folks! I just got this from my AOL account. I thought some of y'all might be intrested. I got directly from my post on the Warner Bros. Board on AOL. I tried to see if they would give my any info on the other lables that are "housed" under them, but Max only has Warner/Reprise info. Peace, Porter ---------------------------------------- Subj: Checkin' the vinyl and CD bins.. Date: 93-10-10 17:00:24 EDT From: Porter MR Hello, I just wanted to post this folder and message to see what turnes your label will be taking when it comes down to dance music. Are you trying to sign techno artists to your label or are you looking for more of a progressive house side (which seems to be more popular on dance floors around the country now). Can you post some of the new artists you've signed and when we can hear something from them?? Just intrested since you've added Sevn V?th, Moby, and Richard James to your line up. Thanks, Porter Roberts underground/progressive techno/house/industrial dance DJ for The Flip Side on WSSO AM 1230 10-11 PM on Tuesday Nights in Starkville, Mississippi ----------- Subj: New Techno Dance Releases Date: 93-10-11 03:42:25 EDT From: Max Warner We have several upcoming releases by Techno/Dance artists. Sven Vath's maxi single will be released 10/21 with the album scheduled for 11/9. There is also a Harthouse compilation being released by WhtLbl/American Recordings scheduled for 10/26. There should be a new Apehx Twin album from Richard James at the beginning of next year. You should also check out new the new album from D:ream. Program 2 has a Maxi-single titled "Una" which should be coming out on 10/28. Also coming in 1994 are albums by Babble, Program 2, and Primal Scream. Moby, alas, is sighed to Mute/Elektra, not Warner Bros./Reprise, so you will have to check with Elektra Records.

I was short on cash so the only one I picked up was Fluke's peel sessions because I thought I'd never see it again. It's EXCELLENT. Much better than Six Wheels or Techno Rose. Here's the track listing: Thumper Taxi Jig Our Definition of Jazz The Bells The Allotment of Blighty Time Keeper As far as I know, these are all new tracks. Great stuff though. Lots of flamenco guitar, jazz beats, dance beats, even something that can only be described as "elevator dance music" (allotment of blighty). Very happy sounding stuff. If you like Underworld, this should tickly your fancy too. Kathy, mistress of elevators

New Releases in stock Friday 17th October 1997 TOUCH Mika Vainio Onko Touch # TO:34CD Release date: 10th November 1997 Bar Code 5/027803143623 Length: 67:30:40 1. Kelvin 2. Jos [IF?] 3. Onko Parts 1-11 [IS IT?] 4. Viher [GREEN/CELLULAR] MIKA VAINIO is one half of the ground-breaking PANASONIC (Blast First) and the man behind the highly acclaimed sound sculptures of ?, released by S?kho in Finland, one of the most influential labels of the early nineties in pushing so-called Minimal Techno. ONKO is Mika Vainio's first release under his own name. It marks a departure from his previous work, more tranquil, symphonic even, but no less intense in its exploration of the post-digital landscape and its quest to reveal the grain of the one/zero lifeform. Imagine the sounds that cellular patterns might make as they face the scrutiny of a high-powered microscope. Or the soundtrack to a road movie, filmed in the Arctic Circle in high summer. ONKO means 'It Is'. In a category all on its own, a mystery to the marketing executives at the Coca Cola bottling plant, at once 'ambient' only to ignite in a flash of pure tone. An essential pleasure for anyone for whom the act of listening is still first and foremost a creative activity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- ASH INTERNATIONAL DECAY Ash 3.9CD THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN (things can only get worse) DECAY is the final part of the triptych which began with Chiky(u)u (Ash 3.6) and continued with Scatter (Ash 3.5). All the contributors are from Europe - a territory continually assaulted by external and internal forces, many of which are still invisible. The artists, all active, are from very different backgrounds and thrive in very different scenes. German urban populist Panacea (Chrome/Mille Plateau) alongside Spanish biological researcher Francisco Lopez (Tabel of the Elements/trente oiseaux); Austrian guitar-sourced Christian Fennesz (Mego) and Swedish-based art school punk Graham Lewis (Origin/ wir), for example, reveal the variety and depth of experimentation. The compilation also includes debut contributions from Florian Hecker (cf forthcoming album on Mego), Anton Nikkil?, Shirt Trax and AER. Noto, from the former East Germany, records for Raster Music and PUT PUT have contributed to mesmervariations (Ash 1.8CD2)... After four years and nearly forty releases this is the final release from Ash International.
