in my local shop there's a sealed slimline-cased no-insert-having unmarked cd, the only id being a sticker saying something like: "Rephlex presents the third in the Aphex Twin Analogue BB Series... cat008...". i guess it's a promo copy. anybody have info on the quantity and/or nature of this item? is it the same version as on trance europe express 1? i apologize if this msg 2x posted in some way, & i'm sure there's a afx discography but i can't access it. cordially, martin.

It's "Analogue Bubblebath 3" and its not a promo. The track on TEX1 is similar to one of the tracks on here, but otherwise it is immensely varied, from noodling to banging, all from the rougher side of AFXs personality rather than the more slickly presented items which populate most of "... buy buy buy. This is a great release. I dont think it is a promo copy. I have never seen a copy of this release with anything more than just a sticker on slimline case. Hyperreal.com has the tracklisting. But it's kinda useless as most of the tracks are just numbers. In anycase. This is a great album. My first AFX pruchase actually. My copy didn't even come with a case. Just a rectangular, black & white sticker affixed to a CD-sized bubble-wrap envelope. Second the motion. the CD has "66% more bubbles" than the vinyl version, and in typical bubblebath fashion, it's a mix of hard as carpet tacks RDJ crunchiness, ambient wash and beautiful melodic noodling. there's a postscript file of a slimline jewelcase liner with track names / floating point arithmetic. buy now, cuz it's somewhat hard to find these days. it's the best of the bubblebath's yet.
