amongst other projects, am currently coordinating the schedule for
ICE FM's third annual month-long radio broadcast throughout newcastle, here
in northern england. we operate 24.7 from may 19 to june 16, & will
revolutionise the airwaves.
have made space purposefully for worldwide invention, with an open
forum for all possibilities. already we have, from detroit, sci-fi techno
on dat. from helsinki, abstract minimalist aurascapes for environmental
sound. original works from tokyo & san francisco. we hope to receive
further material from a renegade station in Bosnia, improvised & makeshift,
music from the warzone.
we don't necessarily need custom-built originals (though this
material will receive priority). if you'd prefer, recordings of previous
works, rough edits from current projects or sophisticated dj mixes
conveying unique sounds & styles that will never have been heard before on
UK radio. ideally we need DAT tapes, preferably one or two hours long.
these will be returned. i realise fully that i'm asking a lot at short
notice, but this is a unique opportunity which i am totally committed to &
hope that you will also recognise the possibilities. by negotiating new
terrain we will rewrite the map of radio broadcasting.
