This sounds *very* tastey, but I was wondering, do you think this type of thing could be played in a DJ set for dance-power, (like I know only SOME Beaumont Hannant can be)? ... or is this more of strictly "armchair listening" IDM type stuff from him this time around? Acid techno? Hmmmm... I have seen/heard Claude Young spin some Beaumont Hannant into a serious Detroit-style techno set, right next to Jeff Mills, Dan Bell, and Plastikman... any DJ's out here care to point me to the more "D is for DJ-friendly" Hannant releases? (Forgive me but I'm not a huge Autechre fan, I didn't go nuts for Incunabula or however you spell it.) :) thanks _________________________________________________________________________ Matt MacQueen -- multimedia production -- human interface, CD-ROM, Web <macqueen@student.msu.edu> -- aural nukes in the mix _________________________________________________________________________

If you can get a hold of it, Hannant released a DJ-friendly LP of Texturology on GPR. It contains 10 different tracks than the regular release and the tracks are more beat-oriented than the usual ambient-techno style Hannant is best known for. My favorite track to use is 'Iannamarou'. Seek it out asap! GPR L LP 4 Derek Jordan

Yeah, my fave as well, together with 'Molten Some More' and that 650923-45 or something. If you're *really* lucky you'll get a copy with a nice poster of the cover to hang on your wall....
