Anyone know about the 3LP on Reload Ambient called Alchemy by Psychonauts? I'm seriously tempted to just snarf it up, but the vinyl is 24.99... It looks interesting, but perhaps I can get a more upbeat review/preview from anyone? I had also read in Jockey Slut a couple of months ago that Dave Clarke was going to do (I couldn't believe my eyes...) AMBIENT? Could this project be on this label perhaps? I'm not sure where I saw Dave Clarke/Reload Ambient in the same sentence, but I think it was possible... Also, there have been a couple of posts 'smashing' (Motion) lately. I know it's no 'Beyond The Minds Eye', but it is a start; especially coming from the mind of Phil Wolstenholme. I think warp should look to the Designers Republic & Think Electric for the second Warpvision video. Perhaps viewers of (Motion) were a little put off my the digital landscapes because of seeing them on the CD/Vinyl covers as well. I have to admit, (Motion) didn't blow me away, but to finally see it come to life was worth $14.99. I would have picked different tracks for the video, though. It would be something like: Scanner-'Vein' The Black Dog-'Tahr' Fugue-'Contrapoint' Tanzmuzik-'Asia Indian' Florence-'Off Balance' Of course, not all these were licensed to the AI series, but the tracks alone deserve some Basic Digital Manipulation... Strange...in the jan/feb issue of Jockey Slut, Clarke totally pans ambient music in an interview. He disses it to a pulp. I would *seriously* doubt him coming out with anything ambient in the near future. An exerpt: -- Jockey Slut: A lot of techno musicians go all ambient and chilled out as soon as they make an album. How about you? Dave Clarke: You're never going to get an ambient album out of me. I'm not going to pander to the indie press who don't understand a fuck about techno music when you have to dance to it. I'm not going to pander to them by making an ambient album so that they can rant and rave about it. That's bollocks. -- Geez, Dave. Chill out, man... :) Guess we won't be seeing him collaborate with Namlook any time soon... :):) - Matthew

This one is Richard Kirk latest effort and Its great, dark experimental ambient should I say. The vinyl is , have I been said, longer than the CD. Some hard extras tracks are offered on the third ep that you dont have on the CD. ********************************************************************** Eric "Aleph6" Neurom-X Interactive Communication *********************************************************************

Sorry to contradict you but Psychonauts is not Richard Kirk but Acid Kirk, who is a totally different being in real life... DJ Neurom
