I found a video called motion which is supposed to have bands from the AI series. I cannot recall any review of this video so I decided to ask here if anybody had some cool impressions. Also can anybody recomend Commercial Entertainment Product by EBN to contain some bizare video clips?

Well I've viewed both and I can say that I definately enjoy the EBN video more. Motion is pretty dull IMO. sung - -- (mRay) z943159@corn.cso.niu.edu

Not just supposed to, it does. It is a genuine WARP release, and contains some of the tracks from AI vol 2, plus some others. The visuals are cool, though the vid is not the "best" in every respect - the FSOL Lifeforms short is more liquid and organic in feel, but pitifully short, while the Orb's Ultraworld Video is smoother and longer. Motion is made of 5 (I think) fairly short clips, supposedly storyboarded together. The ideas range from the unoriginal (metallic humanoid walking across sandy landscape, dolphins travelling through "tunnel" structures) to the outlandish (semi-mechanical crab-like creatures doing strange things) to the quite funny (two greek pavilions humping). All computer generated. Stills from the video appear on the walls in the room occupied by the smoking android on the cover of Ai Vol I.

FYI A.I.Video "MOTION" was making of great Amigoids. His name is Philip Wolstenholme (Warp A.I.Video Director). also other his works like, A.I,A.I.II and many Warp's Sleeve 3D Graphics. I tried direct interview in last year. listed below, --------------------------------------------------------------------- PHIL WOLSTENHOLME FAQ -- ASTONISHING COMPUTER GRAPHICS FROM SHEFFIELD -- Q) How old are you? A) I am 31.58 years old. Q) When did you get Amiga (or other Computers)? A) I bought my first Amiga in 1988, a 500 with 1MB of memory and one disk drive... Q) Would you tell me your Amiga Configuration? A) My present Amiga configuration is a 68040 33 Mhz 2000, with 22MB of memory, 1GB hard drive, IV24 video board and external optical drive with 3.5GB of storage. Oh, and a laser printer. Q) When did you start computer graphics (or Art) carrier? A) I started computer graphics the day I bought the Amiga. I completed my degree course in Fine Art in 1986, specialising in photography, althougth I also worked on video, sound and live performance projects with a multimedia group called Fabricata Illuminata. Q) How did you learn to Imagine and some computer works? A) I learnt Imagine the same way I learnt everything in computer graphics; switching it on and playing with it (without a manual either, although I soon got one!). I use Imagine exclusivery for my 3D work, although I am keeping a close eye on Lightwave... Q) Are you going to make computer graphics in the future? A) I am definitery going to produce computer graphics in the future; I have an old friend who is one of the top graphics programmers in the world, currently in San Francisco working on SGI. We are planning eventually to work together, with him writing the software, and myself (and others, hopefully) producing the animation. This would preferably for HDTV or cinema release. There are so many plans to make, I hardly know where to start! Obviously I hope the Warpvision video does well in Japan, and this may dictate what happens in the next year. I am very optimistic for the future! (C) Phil Wolstenholme & YAK!? Sato <yak@twics.com> -- 22/Aug/'94 Contacts:Warp Records Big Thanks to Marcus Dyson <marcus@badmoon.demon.co.uk>.
