Freaky Chakra "Lowdown Motivator" Astralwerks ASW 6133-2 Multiphasic Invoculator Big Aura Budded on Earth to Bloom In Heaven Goodbye Peace Fixation [trance mix] tra vigne Halucifuge [blind dive] Lightdarklight Most trance music I hear I find pretty boring. The worst trance music mostly makes me think of "Sprockets" on Saturday Night Live. Comes now Freaky Chakra. Here's a boy who's not afraid to do the trance thing but with some buzzy funk to it. I love especially the echoplex bouncing on the organ sounds, and the sneaky morphing rhythmic lines. This is music you can dance to, but won't bore you to listen to while you're whiling away the hours typing messages to IDM. Each track on this disk is strong, and chock full of little bits of fun business -- sampled laughs, massive analogue FM squawks. And some tight, tight tight rhythm that may start out from 4 on the floor, but quickly morphs into something more syncopated, tribal and funky. And here's a boy who's been positively snogging his echoplex. If you like those endless echoes sync'ed to the beat, Mr. Bently will be over shortly to demonstrate. What more could you want?
