( anyone know who that was ????-ian) ------------forwarded message---------------- The Cocteau Twins were on The White Room (UK TV prog.) on Saturday to perform a one-off song. Apparently, they had been rehearsing all week in London to do this. Now, I like the CTs but frankly this song was disappointing. There was some guy ( I think from Orbital?) doing a live mix but the overall sound was a wishy-washy attempt at something ambient in the (new) Slowdive, Seefeel vein. I hope that their new stuff won't be like this. The ambient scene seems to becoming a bit dead now anyway. It's a really good album. Very mellow, with minimal guitars and spaced out/ reverbed vocals. Much more adventurous than _Souvlaki_ and has less keyboards than the "5" EP. As most people are saying, the album is somewhat like Seefeel's Too Pure stuff. -Mike Stein mps2@cec.wustl.edu
