david thrussel and pieter bourke are the names behind soma, and david is
also the main part of snog, of which pieter plays a part aswell, according
to the credits. he is also part of eden (often compared to dead can dance).
the material on the Soma extreme release was also on an earlier,
self-titled ep (50+ minutes) so don't go searching for it if you have the
new one.
soma reflects the more ambient side of snog - similar sounds appear on the
albums, but especially on the extra tracks that most of their singles have.
also the ltd edition "live" disc with Snog's 'dear valued customer' had
some nice ambient dance stuff.
due to length restrictions of singles in germany, some of the snog ambient
has been collected under the group name 'black lung' (can't recall the
title). however, black lungs second release (depopulation bomb) is all new
stuff.
