I also got 'Throbbing Pouch' yesterday, *with* the 'At Atmos'
bonus CD. And boy, do I love them both. Jazz, funk, t**p h*p, and
more in the same pulsing psychedelicious bag! Just a year ago I was
worried about the future of IDM, with everyone seemingly stuck in their
old rut, but guys like Luke Vibert have proved I was so totally, totally
wrong.
It seems interesting that techno/IDM stuff seems nowadys going to a more
funkier, jazzier direction with all these Mo'Wax/Ninja Tune type
jazz/techno crossovers going around, not to talk about the stuff Mr.
Carl Craig have been churning out for a couple of years now... Maybe
this is *the* Miles Davis/John Coltrane stuff for our generation? But just
three little words: get this shit! :)
Also got finally the Link/E621 'Antacid', which was not so bad either.
Especially loved those classic electro soundbites - now you can sample
all of them and give that old skool electro feel to your own songs.
Rok da house. Space is the place. U know :)
And last but not least: has anybody else seen the 'Acid Flashbacks Vol. 1'
collection, obviously from the people behind the 'Trance 1-6' collections?
There are all these hallucinating pumping groundbreaking mind-shaking
classics like 'Oochy Koochy' by Baby Ford, 'We Are The Phuture' by Phuture,
and lots of more. If interested, I can give you the complete track listing.
The true sound of the future, and it was invented nearly a decade ago :)
