this is the stuff that carries the name jazz/hip-hop 1. Dope on Plastic - good heavy funky beats. Not much in the way of cover art, even looks silly because there is a cartoon guy lighting up a CD. Sorta makes me wanta go back to gangsta rap. (yo dre! kick in the base) 2. Headz (Mo Wax) - pretty damn good, looses out to #1 because the above seems more street(?). 3. Strictly Turntablized (Mo Wax) - not as interesting as above. OK. Provides a good hip-hop background beat to whatever you're doing. ------------- it was once said by a man who couldn't quit techno man please can I have another hit the techno man said "man I don't give a shit" "if your head ain't right it ain't gonna fit" ------------- on now: van halen - jump!

I heartily agree, not to talk about the t**p h*p :)

Don't know about the gangsta rap, but this record was a real delight, although not as experimental as Mo'Wax stuff. I especially liked Grassy Knoll's 'Conversations With Julian Dexter' (kicking!), Skylab's 'Seashell' ("I put a seashell to my ear and it all comes back..."), and the 'Tempest Dub' track. And of course, 'Ode to the Blunt' :)

Yeah, this one should be part of any decent record collection. If you don't have it yet, your shame :)

Well, I agree, although IMHO the last two tracks were not so bad actually...

Wow, brings me back memories... But is it IDM? ;) Just give me Dave Lee Roth over Sammy Hagar anyday... Oops, off the topic again. By the way, what's the word on Palm Skin Productions' 'The Beast' - is it out yet, or have I just missed it? Furthermore, how about those U.N.K.L.E. mixes for Massive's 'Karmacoma'? Hey! Wicked! I just had 1984 on earlier. "Panama" always gets the *repeat* button. 8-) chris clarke
