It came out in 1992, but contains some material dating to '91.

Incidentally, some of those tracks were written in '92 as well.

hee ;) I think I know what frame of mind you're talking about .. I've been there, and I was blown away (also by their remixes of Inner City's "Praise") ...but then, a lot of stuff that isn't that great can sound really neat...

There is a single and an album called Lifeforms, both of which have yet to be released. I forgot to make a call for FSoL discography help on this list. Folks, I'm going to have to ask for help with the FSoL discography. It hasn't been updated in ages and I lost access to the hard drive that has most of the updates I've been saving. Joe Rice & Samu, I have your updates, but that is it. Anyone who has anything not in the discog (techno.stanford.edu: pub/raves/music/discog/future.sound.of.london.gz; request file without .gz extension if you can't decompress it on your end) please email me. Just to clear up a common confusion: the band was called "Humanoid". The track was originally entitled "Stacker", but then was later renamed to "Stacker Humanoid". I think. Cosmic

>Earth Beat Records - to whom FSOL are on - have released a multitude of compilation albums of which I have one, containing the original Stakker Humanoid, and Papua New Guinea. There are about 16 tracks in all by apparently different artists. But in the credits it appears that FSOL ( Sorry can't remember thier actual names, Kirk Cobain? ) have written all the tunes. so If you like thier stuff then I would Recommend the Earth Beat comp. There are a wide variety of styles mainly tuneful hardcore from aroun 89 - 91, a couple of vocal over breakbeat ( SUAD style ) and a good acid tune. Can't be more help since this is all out of my memory, and my brain has never been the same since a nasty incident last year involving 6 police, 20 yardies and too many pharmaceuticals. J.D.

Arrrgh... ONCE AGAIN, I maintain the FSOL discography. The answers to the questions about their pre-1993 releases are contained within that document. Go get it. Most of the info about the contents of their previous albums and singles, who is in the band, etc, can be found there. ftp, gopher, or www: techno.stanford.edu pub/raves/music/discog/future.sound.of.london.gz ftp users request file without .gz extension for uncompressed copy. people with email-only accounts mail me. I am currently accepting help filling in the missing releases. Thank you! *huff puff* Mike J. Just a quick note to let my fellow IDMers know that I've been lucky enough to assume upkeep responsibilities for the FSOL discography on hyperreal. Version 3.0 was put in place on January 4. While I already have a few minor revisions and an addition pending, I invite everyone to view it and fire off a quick email to me if you see anything that should be changed or updated. The URL for the discography is: ftp://ftp.hyperreal.com/music/artists/fsol/articles/discog30.txt My address as shown in the discography (slw4blb@cabell.vcu.edu) is a bit unstable at times. Should you have trouble with that address, please bounce a copy to bella@richmond.infi.net. Thanks! Bella

Please feel free to peruse the newest version, 3.1, using: ftp://ftp.hyperreal.com/music/artists/fsol/articles/discog.txt *or* http://www.hyperreal.com:80/music/artists/fsol/www/ (select discography) A section for notes has been added with information on how to access past posts to IDM or Ambient regarding FSOL, as well as info on upcoming releases (so let me know about them as you find out!). There's also now a section at the bottom for videotapes. Anyone have any info to add to it? Please direct any feedback/input to me, bella@hyperreal.com. Put 'FSOL Discog' in the header, if you don't mind... :) Many thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ bella@hyperreal.com bella@richmond.infi.net slw4blb@cabell.vcu.edu http://www.hyperreal.com/~bella ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
