Does anyone have info on Trance Atlantic, the latest compilation from the Volume/Trance Europe Express people? This time the emphasis seems to be on your side of Atlantic, my Stateside friends, so it should be very tasty... As I recall, the comp was scheduled for January 23 in the UK, so someone must have a promo copy already? Track lists, etc? ERkki -- protect me from what i need - jenny holzer

No track list, but according to this week's Melody Maker it's scheduled to come out on Monday, January 30. Artists that contribute tracks include Juan Atkins, Plastikman, Dan Curtin, Kenny Larkin, Space Time Continuum, Damon Wild, Eddie Fowlkes, Skull, Joey Beltram and Mike Dearborn. Sounds like a doozy :) . - Matthew

It's not a bad comp at all - not as good as TEEX2 but better than TEEX3 in my opinion. It's very minimalist and moody - no dancefloor stompers here, but really eggselent trippy tracks from Meat Beat Manifesto (on this comp because they're "expatriates"?), Hawke (sorry Jon), and Psychic TV. Those are the ones that caught my ear, at any rate - the Plastikman and STC tracks were good but not radical departures from the other stuff they've done. Brian

I dunno - I got it as a white-label 2-cassette, but since it's from the Volume folks I presume it'll have the same high level of production. The release date as mentioned before is 30 jan. Brian

Morgan - Yeah - it has one of those "booklets" that's why I refused their offer to be on the compilation. It reminds me of one of those "cute" little teen magazines my little sister used to buy.
