The UK music makers' mag "Future Music" has a WARP Special in its
current (January) issue. It has interviews with Autechre, LFO and
Sabres of Paradise.
The CD features a track by Autechre - a remix of a track off "Amber"
(Can't remember the title but its the one with the muffled voice
saying "you pervert you...")
Some of the other stuff on the CD is not bad too, and I found the
whole thing reasonably interesting even though I'm not a music
maker at all. Not to say I would buy it regularly, but just this
once.
And in case anyone didn't know, TBD "Spanners" did come out
yesterday, on CD, tape and double vinyl, cat PUP LP1 (the first full
Warp release without a WARP or WAP in the catno I think - apologies
for trainspotter tendencies!). And the content is the same as the
demo tape I have a copy of - 12 "proper" tracks and 7 "bolts" in all.
Thoroughly recommended.
btw Has anyone received any info from WARP recently? The last I had
was a Seefeel postcard, and a sheet which had nothing confirmed
beyond the Spanners release (which was listed as 13th Jan on that)
I am interested in release dates of the Nightmares on Wax LP "Smokers
Delight" (yes I have the "Headz" LP so I have high hopes for this),
the Drexciya EP and anything else which may be coming up
"The engines cannae take it Cap'n"
