Hi everyone. I just received a postcard from AO Records (posted from Tokyo). The front has an American Typewriter font with the words "...MEDIUM FRUIT..." There is a green apple floating in space above a cratered moon. The apple has a slice out of it, revealing a watermelon interior. There are stars in the background with another small moon in the top left and a swirly black hole towards the bottom right. On the back are stamps and my address. There is a sticker attached with a "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !" greeting. Under the greeting is; New Release 95' "Medium Fruit" - ORB, Thrash, Greg, OBI (very classic ambient) "Avemaria 2" - Slava (future classic music) "Frozen Ants" - Subsurfing (dub ambient) Suzuki K1+ 7.5cc (Suzuki Keiichi solo album) The Saxophonettes (Shimizu yasuaki) From AO Records This last part has been copied letter for letter. This postcard obviously has NOTHING to do with Designers Republic (although I don't know for 100% sure) Does anyone else know anything more about these releases? You should see the crummy things they send out in the UK. Printed on unfinished white cardboard, clumsily printed and often with what looks like hand drawn amendments to the original typography, and a sticker on the other side with the recipient's address, which is usually starting to peel off. On one I received, my name/address had been stuck on over somebody elses!
