Anyone heard anything about the KLF doing a show in SF on new years? It's being advertised and I was pretty surprised. Also, I picked up the Afterburn wax trax comp... overall impression about 4/10 (and only that high because of the Underworld track). If someone hasn't reviewed it already I'll post one... I'll just say that the Larkin and B12 tracks were disappointing, and the R.H. Kirk track left me wishing for Mallinder, and that says a lot. IMHO a weak effort by almost all the atists on the comp. -H-

Before anyone gets excited, it's "The KLF" with in small print "Experience featuring Wanda Dee". Sigh. They're playing at the Cool World New Year's party (one of the few highly commercial rave promoters out here). Brian

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. It was enough to make me do a double-take at the radio, though. (they just said "featuring the KLF!"). Blah. -H-

This is NOT the KLF, rather KLF featuring Wanda Dee or some such nonsense... Wanda Dee did a few vocals for the KLF, and is now touring as the KLF featuring Wanda Dee...which is not in any way sanctioned by cauty or drummond. And I've also heard it's pretty lame, just her singing and jumping around on stage with a bunch of dancers to some canned klf tunes... it's not what you think -John Did someone say Squishy? \|/ / (@ @) ------------oOO--(_)--OOo-------------------------------------------------- ``` ''' http://hyperreal.com/~handi Squishy Info Line: (415) 566-0863, ext 4

thanks for reminding me about this... Cool World, mega-rave people in SF, are having 'The KLF Experience Feat. Wanda Dee' play 'live' at their new year's rave... this is not the klf. it's wanda dee playing klf songs. i'm sure lazlo can tell you the rest. laz?

Don't beleive the KLF ads. They made an huge public announcement that they were disbanding and would never resurface as anything recognizable as the KLF. As for that knock off parading around this country as the KLF, it must have been some sort of deal with Arista (or whoever pressed the white room here) that she could still use the name. I think she's the one who says "move, move" on some of their tracks. I'm prety sure she's not even the one who sang so smooOOooth on "make it rain". I did se her perform as the KLF ,for free, in Mpls. and it sucked soooooo bad I don't even want to relive it in my mind. KLF is gone, they are missed -- Christmas carols are information viruses Mark Bowen Don't spread them to others mb@gettins.bche.uic.edu

Well... actually... "The KLF" are gone, but KLF does exist. (The KLF != KLF.) http://freedom.wit.com/~klf/klfhome.html or http://ftp.luth.se/pub/misc2/kosmic/www/ nice good net-distributed IDM. ---- The Finn / VLA Aaron J. Grier agrier@reed.edu (other addresses will be forwarded to this one.)

I could but I'm so sick of the whole thing I really don't feel like it right now, and seeing the "Gonna Make You Sweat" single reissued on CD in the shop the other day doesn't help any. It's not Bill and Jimmy, and they don't care enough to try and stop her from doing it so I'm going to stop tilting at windmills . . . I will say, though, that her presence speaks volumes about the priorities of the people booking the show . . . -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@rt66.com) ::: Use the Internet Music Wantlists to find rare records and CDs. ::: Email wantlists@rt66.com with HELP on a line by itself in the message.
