Hi everyone... been a long time since I've posted, but this was noteworthy enough! ... 'Frequencies': Yea, a good album, but nothing spectacular. ... 'Tied Up': Everything spectacular! I didn't expect all that much from LFO when I picked this up to listen to at the store, but after the first mix I listened to (the original), I thought... hmm I'm going to buy this. Dropping into the second mix, an electro version of the song, I started to get really excited about the thing. It's damn good! And as it turns out, each additional mix I listened to made me like it more and more. Definitely some great music here. For those with the CD single, here's the 2x12" track listing. 12" #1: Tied Up Tied Up Electro Tied Up (Sweep Mix) :: very cool- faster and scratchier, with nice, fresh sounds. Tied Up (Acid Mix) :: ok, this one I didn't like all that much, but it's not too bad. Just not my style. 12" #2: Tied Up - Spiritualized "Electric Mainline Remix" :: also a great track- more moody than the others Nurture :: Ambientish thing... also good. Not outstanding, but noteworthy I guess. I like it. So there it is. An 8/10 in my book. Frequencies quite simply is just about the best techno album ever... I was actually quite disappointed with Tied Up, but haven't heard the final and other mixes yet. talking of best ever LPs.. Amber - bloody good Musik - bloody good as well. 'Last trak' is scintillating acid, tear jerkingly beautiful Full reviews will follow... greg 3 0 3

LFO = Low Frequency Orchestra The other 4? mmmm.. I don't know exactly but I just was thinking: If I ever should make a top 5 this one should be in it. But I'll try: Bytes - Black Dog Productions first album (green) - Orbital Frequencies - L.F.O. Incabucula - Autechre no particular order btw.. To me there aren't that much good 'techno' albums There more some very interesting compilations.. Artificial Intelligence, Techno 1 & 2 (ten records), Virtual Sex, Bio Rhythm 2, Relics, Intergalatic Beats, Agenda 21 & 22... More than 'one artist only' albums to my opinion.. Cheers, Peel Seamus
