It seems like DR just aren't trying very hard any more. I liked the art on AI2, but the art in Richard Kirk's Virtual State is marginal at best and the art in Kenny Larkin's Asimuth is non-existant. I liked the covers for AI, Autrechre, Black Dog Productions, and Polygon Window. Speedy J was marginal and B12 was attrocius. But I still love my DesRep! On a different note, what AI releases are scheduled off AI2. It appears that Richard H Kirk (Virtual State) and Kenny Larkin (Asimuth) are intended to be AI releases but what of the new Autechre and Seefeel albums? What of Link and Beaumont Hannant? Speaking of Beaumont Hannant. I just picked up a single by him and Lida Husik. It's pretty good, mellow stuff with femal vocals and an interesting soundscape, not entirely ambient, but not really rollicking dance numbers either. I give it an initial thumb's up! Oh, the tital is Evening at the Grange and I found it at Tower on sale! Also, I found the Sven Vath single for Harlequin (the beauty and the beast) and, upon an initial listen, it seems pretty good. There are three mixes, the Original, the Single, and an Underworld Remix. Sadly, the Original is by far the best, the Single Version being too short and the Underworld version just not grabbing my attention. Maybe I'll change my mind after repeated listenings...
