Ooops, I meant to send this message to the list and I stripped the header
and only sent it to one person, and the message that I only wanted to
send to one person I sent to a bunch of people. Oh well, don't try to
edit mail when you're so tired you can't concentrate (or type).
Here goes:

Whoa, hold on there... I would say that this applies in general to email
lists. It seems to be dominated by guys. Not a alot of women techno-weenies
out there. BUT we do exist.
I for one prefer techno over house. Don't get me wrong though...I like house
in the wee morning hours of a rave. I don't care for the stuff that's like
70's disco however. I prefer the darker "more industrial" stuff the best.
But that was how I got into raving. I was really into the industrial/ambient/
techno...everything from Coil, Chris & Cosey, Einsturzende Neubauten, Front
Line Assembly (and all of it's spin-offs), Meat Beat Manifesto, KMFDM, PTV,
PWOG, etc, etc. In the 70's and 80's I was really into any electronic music I
could get my hands on. Jean Michel Jarre, Synergy, Michael Garrison, Space
Art...And then I was invited to a "party" back in '91. I didn't
even know the term "rave" back then. At first I thought, "what is this disco
shit?". But by the end of the night I was hooked. A couple of the dj's played
some killer techno. I also over the years have like harder edged rock and
during the New Wave years, I was into that.
Anyway, I'm 38 years old and have been buying tons of music for years. I
used to dj for awhile (private parties only) but had to give it up due to
the fact that I just didn't have the time required anymore to keep up the
'ol record buying. I also have a 17 year old son who I turned on to this
music. And when he comes over and brings friends they now bring tapes to
tape some of my music. So just because that's what is typical on lists...
doesn't meen we aren't out here.
