I don't think I've seen anyone mention this:
There's a 10 page special on ambient music in the June issue of
Record Collector (UK mag). The main article is written by Mark
Prendergast and is focused on the development of ambient music from
ancient times up till now. He presents 43 albums that he considers
essential listening. From John Cage, Eno, Gottsching, KLF to Future
Sound Of London. Then there are three articles written by Brian Eno,
Klaus Schulze and Alex Paterson, where they talk about what ambient
has meant to them.
Recommended reading for the fluffy posse.
