Actually, it was a bit of a braino. If I'd been thinking, I'd have said "the vinyl release of the album". Of course, as someone else on this list pointed out, the original meaning of "album" is a collection of 78's. (An album, being too long to fit on a single disc, came as a pack of several 78's.) Cosmic
