(consider this a continuation of my previous post *WEST INDY* part of the greatness of the Exist Dance Label are thier easy going diversity. When they press out something different it doesn't ever sound contrived or market influenced. . .it sounds right on *be not ashamed of the fact you are a freak* Dubois Whickwikwhack MD *if it aint freaky, it aint shit!* exist dance inner etchings ED10 Freaky Chakra (major credits to Daum Bently) Halucifuge (freaky chicken peck) This track just drops right into hard ass house beats, deep spooky vocals, and twisted electronics hosed down with wicked guitar riffing sprayed out on top of plenty of percussion. o.o.o.o.oops There it is. The Sanfrantransforming, an aural halucination. *You are in the light.* This track is worthy house. True to its roots. Deep, hard, and strong. Trancendental Funk Bump This track is the bassball equivalent of a lolly pop curve. If you've seen one, you know. It's beautiful. Drops right down from the sky. Bam. Right over the plate. Fuck art, let's boogie! Bass bumps and hyper wood blocks. Tribal tablas and distant strings. SHIT! Funky pumpin riffin jammin fatstylin wicked ruff dub grooves. Damn, there's scratchin to boot! Hey hey hey! Feel the funk ya'll! (sorry, can't write. . .must dance) Halucifuge (blind dive) This is the *cold start mix*. Erie intro of avant garde keys. Trance kids will go gaga for the straight up thumps and syncopation freaks (like me) will hang out on the dense tribal percussion. Or of course you can always drop your brain in-between the Sanfrantransforming. Which is nice. Halucifuge (300 mic) How does that old saying go? If you dont have anything nice... um;) Ok, two doubles, a dinger, and a ground out. I think I'll put Daum Bentley down on my bassball rotisserie team, The Bayside Bombers. We should be hearing more from these west coast power housers. Word on line is that our boy Jon Drukman has been jamming out tracks with Daum under the name Surly Groove Cats (surly, you must be joking!) The combo has the potential to be lethal. Let's hope we see this stuff on wax soon. (no I'm not joking, and stop calling me surly!) Teep
