Agreed. However, I think the problem lies with the fact that most of those who subscribe to this list are pretty damn knowledgeable about many different forms of techno music. For example, if I wanted to know where I could find CJ Bolland's "Horse Power" on cd (and I really do? any pointers?) I'd probably ask first here. But that's only because I think alt.rave is full of crud, and no better forum exists. Maybe some enterprising sysadmin could start a trance list to take some of the load off of IDM. ??? I think for a clear understanding of what is appropiate for IDM, we should all go back and read the Welcome Message that Fluid posted a few days ago. IMHO, it *clearly* outlines what IDM is. Just for reference, I don't mind the trance talk, as I don't really see an appropiate forum for it. But I can see how some might get annoyed at the number of messages and the content therein.
