My favorite from the "baggy pants and bad haircuts" days was always
Happy Mondays' second LP, _Bummed_. Weird, dark and swampy, nothing else
sounded quite like it. I chalk it up to the Martin Hannett production work.
I'd also plug Ultra Vivid Scene's _Joy 1967-1990_ here; the more subdued
tracks work as "comedown anthems" in the same way that the folkier stuff
on _Screamadelica_ does.
