Hi folks.
Last night was a great one down in Baltimore. I spent the night chatting
away with Richie Hawtin, and heres the goodies for you all.
There are about 8 releases on +8 that are ready to go. These include a
new Plastikman single in about a month, and the Plastikman album which
wont be out until September. There will also be a joint ambient project
Richie did with Pete Namlook of FAX records. I asked him about the
rumoured +8/rephlex project, and he said that he and Richard James had
been talking about it for over a year now, and it was very possible that
something might come out of it. I then asked what he though of Selected
Ambient Works II, and he said that he hadn't heard it yet and wasnt going
to listen to it until he's finished his Plastikman album first, which is
in its closing stages. Oh, and of course, I had to ask about sheet one
and what the real story was behind it. Apparently, there *were* some
sheets with acid on them but these were only circulated in Detroit - he
also said to look out for something similar with the new album when it
arrives. Finally, he's having a large party in Detroit June 4th, and he
expressed an interest in flying Richard James over to DJ since they're
such good friends - that would make the final line up Richie Hawtin,
Derrick May, and Richard James. Beautiful.
