a topic which interests me concerning dance music is how people arrived at
it. i myself have music rooting in earlier hip-hop, then i moved into the
technopop (erasure, depeche) thing, and eventually i found industrial music.
i likes the beat oriented material the best - so the guitar/metal industrial
didn't qualify. eventually i found dance music- the idm scene.
i am really curious to know how all of you idm'ers arrived at dance music- if
we have the same influences and roots... i think it will definitely aid to
everyone's understanding of where everyone is coming from and why we see
things differently in music (among other reasons- but this is a start).
