From the cyberdesk of: Fredrik Idestam-Almquist From: ??? Date: ??? Subject: ??? Status: [flame on] Yeah, this is just the kind of snobbery I thought the "I" in IDM would keep relegated to alt.snooty.net.god.wanna.bes. And what exactly was your point in posting your response to the list, and not directly to the poster? Who cares that you are able to point out what *you* think are irrelevant postings? I assume that was your main point, and not actually *helping* the person get the information he/she was looking for. [flame off] And now, for a more appropriate response to the original inquiry: The IDM list will probably not be your best source of an answer to your question. Perhaps you should try mailing to bpm@dhp.com. The bpm list is more DJ & equipment-oriented than the IDM list. If you would like to subscribe, send e-mail to: listproc@dhp.com with Subject: subscribe and subscribe bpm <your e-address> in the body. If you post directly into the list and are not subscribed, please make sure you note that in your message, so people will respond directly to you, and not the list (which you can't read if you are not subscribed, right?) I am posting this to the list in what I hope will provide a better example of an "I"DM response to an off-topic posting (and one I happen to know how to help the person find the answer to his/her question). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael King mike%delta1@rex.cs.tulane.edu Delta Systems New Orleans, LA 70002 Voice: 504.837.9835 Fax: 504.837.9838 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never under estimate the bandwidth of a station wagon loaded with mag tapes. -From the "kermit" manual ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
