Sounds can definitely be music, but all those "sounds of nature" $1.99 cds are crap...

^^^^^^^ I think there are definitely elements which make music more 'danceable', whether the music is techno, house, freestyle, or disco. For one thing, I prefer my dance tracks between 130-140 bpm, a little less to chill out and a little more when I'm pumped. My body and dancing style is most suited to this speed. As for drumless dance tracks, while this may receive acceptance with some people, I don't think it will really ever be considered dance music. Like I said before, dance music has changed immensely over the decades, but I think there are definitely objective criteria for what is danceable which will never change. Oh and one more thing...I am _always_ enslaved to the beat when I dance and I wouldn't want it any other way... =). Oh and even one _more_ thing. I think The Orb "Towers of Dub" is a GREAT dance track. (see above) peace out ___ (:)====/__/\=(:)(:)============================(:)====================(:) |\| _\_ \ \|\||=| Tai Nguyen |\| email address: |=| |=| /__/\_\ \=||\| Cornell University |=| thn1@cornell.edu |\| |\| / /\ __/\|(:)============================(:)====================(:) |=|/ / /\ \ |=||=| "These are not my figures I'm quoting.
